Fictional student project This site was built as part of a training programme. No real booking, payment, or transaction can ever be made on the AtypikHouse site.
1. Purpose
These terms of use, hereinafter the "Terms", govern access to the AtypikHouse site and the use of its features.
AtypikHouse is presented as a demonstration platform connecting travellers looking for unique stays with individual or professional hosts wishing to showcase their properties.
As part of this fictional student project, the stays, prices, availability, bookings, payments, reviews, and other information shown may be fictional and are presented for educational purposes only.
2. Accepting the Terms of Use
Creating a traveller or host account requires prior acceptance of these Terms.
When signing up, the user must tick a mandatory checkbox, unchecked by default, stating: "I have read and accept the terms of use."
The account cannot be created until this box is checked.
This acceptance is separate from the newsletter subscription, which remains optional and has its own checkbox, also unchecked by default.
The date and time of acceptance, the version of the Terms accepted, and the ID of the account concerned are recorded in the database.
3. Site access and account creation
The site is freely accessible to anyone with internet access.
Some features require creating an account, in particular:
- saving stays as favourites;
- making a mock booking;
- viewing booking history;
- publishing a review;
- listing and managing a stay;
- accessing the traveller and host account areas.
Account creation is reserved for people aged at least 18.
When signing up, the user declares they are at least 18 by ticking the mandatory checkbox: "I confirm I am at least 18 years old."
AtypikHouse does not carry out any documentary age verification as part of this student demonstration.
The user agrees to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information.
4. Traveller and host accounts
Two categories of account are publicly available.
Traveller account
A traveller account allows the user to, in particular:
- search for unique stays;
- save favourites;
- make a mock booking;
- view their booking history;
- publish a review after a completed mock booking;
- edit or delete their account.
Host account
The term "host" refers to the owner or manager of a unique stay.
A host can be an individual or a professional.
Their account allows them to, in particular:
- list one or more stays;
- add photos;
- write a description;
- enter amenities, capacity, and prices;
- manage a mock availability calendar;
- view mock bookings linked to their stays;
- edit or delete their account.
Administrator account
The "administrator" role is strictly internal to AtypikHouse.
It cannot be created from a public sign-up form.
Each user is responsible for keeping their credentials confidential and for the accuracy of the information they provide.
5. Listings and approval by the administrator
Every new listing submitted by a host initially has the status "Pending approval".
A listing in this state must not be shown publicly.
For each listing, the administrator can:
- review it;
- approve it and allow it to be published;
- ask the host for a change;
- reject it;
- remove an already-published listing;
- permanently delete it.
An administrator approving a listing does not transfer to AtypikHouse responsibility for the information and content provided by the host.
6. Host liability
The host is responsible for the information, text, prices, and photos they provide to AtypikHouse.
They agree to:
- provide an accurate, consistent presentation of their stay;
- not publish misleading, unlawful, or discriminatory content;
- not advertise amenities or services that don't exist;
- hold the necessary rights to use the text, images, and other material they provide;
- respect the intellectual property rights and privacy of third parties;
- keep their listing's information up to date.
As part of this fictional student project, no listing constitutes a genuine rental offer.
7. Traveller reviews
A review can only be published when a mock booking:
- belongs to the signed-in traveller;
- has the status "Completed";
- has not already been reviewed.
Only one review is allowed per mock booking.
Reviews published on the site are fictional and are presented only to demonstrate how the platform works. They do not result from stays that actually took place.
It is forbidden to publish:
- insulting, discriminatory, or defamatory remarks;
- personal data about a third party;
- advertising content;
- information unrelated to the stay;
- false accusations;
- content that infringes someone's rights.
The administrator may hide or delete a review that does not comply.
8. No direct messaging
The site offers no direct messaging between travellers and hosts. Any request to AtypikHouse can be sent via the contact form.
9. Account deletion by the account holder
Every user can delete their own account directly from their personal account area, using the "Delete my account" feature.
Before final deletion:
- a message must explain the consequences of this action;
- explicit confirmation must be requested;
- the user's password must be confirmed where the authentication system allows it.
After confirmation, access to the account is disabled, a confirmation is shown, and the user is signed out.
Associated data and content are deleted or anonymised in accordance with the terms described in the privacy policy (French page).
Some information may be temporarily retained where necessary for the site's security, compliance with an applicable obligation, or the defence of legal rights.
10. Deletion by the administrator
The administrator can delete:
- a traveller account;
- a host account;
- a listing;
- a non-compliant photo;
- a non-compliant review.
No temporary suspension mechanism is provided in the current version of the site.
Where circumstances allow, the user is informed of the reason for the deletion of their account or content.
Immediate deletion may nonetheless occur in case of:
- fraud;
- a risk to the site's security;
- identity theft;
- clearly unlawful content;
- a serious breach of these Terms.
Confirmation must be requested from the administrator before each deletion.
The date of the action, its reason, and the administrator's ID may be kept for a limited time for security and audit purposes, in accordance with the privacy policy (French page).
11. Bookings and payment
The bookings, payments, and gift cards presented on the site are entirely fictional.
They create:
- no real rental contract;
- no obligation to provide a stay;
- no payment obligation;
- no real commercial relationship between the traveller, the host, and AtypikHouse.
No real charge, payment, or purchase is ever made.
No genuine bank card number should ever be requested or stored.
The fictional nature of the project is clearly restated throughout the booking, payment, and gift card flows.
12. User conduct
Every user agrees to use the site fairly, respectfully, and in line with its purpose.
In particular, users are forbidden from:
- publishing unlawful, misleading, abusive content, or content that infringes a third party's rights;
- impersonating another person;
- transmitting a malicious file or program;
- attempting unauthorised access to an account or a protected area;
- bypassing security measures;
- bulk-collecting or reusing the site's data;
- deliberately disrupting the platform's operation;
- creating multiple accounts to bypass the site's rules.
13. Intellectual property
Subject to the rights belonging to third parties, the text, logo, graphic elements, interfaces, and structure of the AtypikHouse site may not be reproduced, modified, or reused without prior authorisation.
Users remain responsible for the content they submit to the site.
By publishing content, they authorise AtypikHouse to display, resize, and adapt it solely for the platform's operation and presentation needs.
14. Liability
AtypikHouse strives to ensure the site runs smoothly and that the content shown is accurate.
However, the site is a demonstration built as part of a student project.
The stays, availability, prices, bookings, payments, and reviews shown may be fictional and do not constitute any real commercial offer.
Using the site creates no real contractual relationship between AtypikHouse, travellers, and hosts.
AtypikHouse does not guarantee permanent access to the site. It may be temporarily interrupted for maintenance, updates, or due to a technical issue.
15. Personal data and cookies
How personal data is processed on the site is described in the privacy policy (French page).
Information about cookies and other trackers is presented in the cookie policy (French page).
Accepting these Terms does not amount to consent to the use of optional cookies.
Cookie preferences can be changed from the Cookie settings link (French page) in the footer.
16. Changes to these Terms
AtypikHouse may amend these Terms to reflect changes to the site, its features, or applicable rules.
The last-updated date is shown at the top of the page.
In the event of a significant change, users with an account may be notified and asked to accept the new version before continuing to use the features concerned.
17. Applicable law and contact
These Terms are governed by French law.
